@Gargron Hey I just heard the changelog podcast where you talk about Mastodon. I feel like I get a better grasp of the community now, but when you talk about what instances are and how they are centered about a "community" or "interests", you did not mention instances of one and what part they play on the ecosystem. Is that because that use-case doesn't happen a lot? Or what do you think about them?

@noeldemartin It's more because a lot of Mastodon features are irrelevant when you run an instance for one person. Local and federated timelines - useless. Reporting - useless. Moderators - useless. It's a legit use case but you can't talk about communities then. You just follow people you're interested in from other servers.

@Gargron Well they are not 100% useless, I see a difference from my local and federated timelines. But yeah I get your point. It's cool thou because I can create my own community I guess.
