One of the reasons why I am working with Solid is that it embraces interoperability as one of its core values. But there is a lot of nuance about what that looks like in practice. In this blog post, I share my thoughts on the topic.

I've just released an alpha version of an app I'm working on. It's not production-ready, but I'd appreciate it if you give me some feedback:

Today makes 10 years since I started my journey as a developer! Here's what it's been like and what I've learned.

Like #RSS? Know #CSS? I created a tool to generate RSS feeds from arbitrary websites using CSS selectors.
And it's called... Feed me up, Scotty!

Laravel turned 10 years old today!

I can honestly say that Laravel is the single piece of software that has inspired me the most in my programming career. I can't imagine my life as a developer without Laravel, thank you Taylor and the rest of the awesome Laravel community. Here's to another 10 years 🍻.

Berserk manga spoiler

RIP Kentaro Miura.

Even though he left us too soon, the Golden Age arc will always be one my favorite in manga. We won't get the redemption, but in a way it's fitting.

Also, I just found out that you can convert that post to a PDF using your browser's built-in functionality and it looks pretty good. I had to do some tweaks to make it work, but it was almost effortless.

A great example of technology working as it should :).

New blogpost! This one turned out more like a rant than I would've liked, but here it goes:

@aral I've added the header to my sites, but I couldn't do it for my apps because they are hosted on Github Pages... Maybe it is time to give a try.

I've been working on my next app, recently I've been playing with some interesting concepts. What if you could use it completely offline, and sync all the changes with your POD when you're back online?

Jackson Morgan has been posting a series of videos about , and the last one features Media Kraken!

Hey, this month's Solid Networking event is starting in 15 minutes and I'll be there, come join us :)

Mind you, this app has no server-side component, which is the excuse most companies use to justify subscriptions. That's one of the big lies of the current ecosystem, that server costs warrant an ongoing subscription. Projects like Solid and Unhosted show that isn't the only way.

JotterPad, a perfectly good app I've been using for years (and paid for) recently switched to a subscription model.

Did I want any new features? No.

Can I continue using the version I purchased, without getting any new updates? No.

The software industry is broken.

I'm really happy to be sponsoring Anthony Fu, he's done a lot of excellent work in many areas. And I didn't even know he wasn't doing it full-time until now. If you didn't know him, check him out:
