Also, be careful if you're using faker-js because it is not tree-shakeable either! I found out about this because using it in one of my tests increased my production bundle to 3MB O.o https://github.com/faker-js/faker/issues/1791

#TIL none of my libraries were actually tree-shakeable because I wasn't declaring "sideEffect": true in the package.json 😅️

This is the biggest problem I see with these tools. It's ok if they don't know everything, but when they start making things up with complete confidence, that's a problem. I don't even think this "Okgrow" company exists.

Which is interesting, because I'm pretty sure more people have read my website than the Soukai documentation. So it is interesting to see that it prioritizes GitHub content, whatever it is, over any run-of-the-mill personal website.

For context, this is a library that only has 10 stars in GitHub and I'm probably the only person using it. Certainly, I'm the only person who's written any documentation or published code using it (that I know of).

So this tells me that this thing has read everything online O.o

I just tried asking #ChatGPT some things about my library Soukai, and I'm very surprised that it knew about it. Sure, it answered mostly what is already written in the documentation, and the code snippets weren't 100% right. But I'm surprised that it knew it at all.

Also, thanks to @moodle for the purchase! I got it using EduCash, a training allowance they give to employees.

After 10+ years of making websites, you'd think I already know CSS. But I just signed up for Josh W. Comeau's #CSSforJS course and I'm sure I will learn a lot!

The only thing I've had to do on a regular basis is running the following command: `tootctl media remove`. And it's so rarely that I haven't even bothered scheduling it (even renewing SSL certificates is more annoying).

I guess that's because I don't have that many following/followers (117/781). But that's probably most people's situation anyways.

I know, I know. Not everyone is going to host their own instance. But for someone who has some tech skills and is already hosting something like their personal website, this could be easier than they expect.

I've been running all my websites on a 10$ Digital Ocean droplet and it's been mostly hands-off.

There's been some talk about Mastodon admins having scalability issues with the influx of new users the last couple of weeks. So I thought I'd share my experience running an instance-of-one for 4+ years.

When I started in 2018, I wanted to see how much of a headache it would be to maintain... And I'm happy to say it hasn't been a headache at all! Honestly, I'm surprised it's been so easy. Even with the recent increase in activity, I haven't noticed a hitch (hopefully I won't jinx it now xD).
