Wow, listening to Mozilla's IRL podcast I just found out that Pokemon Go is also surveillance capitalism, because they have partnerships with companies such as McDonald's that'll pay them for bringing customers by placing strategic pokestops 😱 https://irlpodcast.org/season4/episode5/
@noeldemartin they also use it to track everyones movements and phone info and sell that to whoever buys that sort of thing. And use the movement info to determine the best pedestrian routes between points of interest in cities for google maps.
Ingress is the same thing, but without pokemon.
